Everything is coming up Millhouse!
Recent events in my life sort of turned everything upside down. And by sort of I mean completely. From losing my dream job to the ending of a serious relationship, it all happened in one giant and totally unexpected smack in the face. And it was that caught off guard feeling, the one where you kinda just sit there going, “Wait… What just happened?” that did me in. I make no bones about being a bit of a control freak, I like to know where I sit in the world and I always have a Plan. I also don’t hide my struggles with depression. So as you can very well imagine, I was having a tough time dealing with life.
I have this awesome support system of friends and fam but it seemed the only thing to say for the most part was, “Everything happens for a reason.”.
I understood the sentiment but let’s face it, when you’re staring down a path full of potholes and zero ideas how to fix it, it’s tough to reallllyyyy get behind that whole idea.
Until…. Now. Life is starting to finally come together. Bam! Light goes on, I’m starting to piece together plans and goals and ideas about my shiny future. Pieces clicking into place that quite frankly had never even occurred to my poor addled hopeless-about-all-things brain. I tend to be an enthusiastic sort of gal so I have a tendency to go overboard with my joy (and sadness too) but the important part is I can now breathe a little easier, smile more often, and appreciate the crap out of every positive aspect of my chaotic existence.
All I can say is if you are looking at a total shit storm in your life, hold on to something, anything, because everything actually does happen for a reason and those reasons, while currently hiding away, will show up. I promise. And when it does, be grateful.
Listen up kids, last post I waxed poetic about Tazo Passion Tea and the whole back story of how I discovered it was the best tea ever.
Forget all of that.
Because Tetley Summer Berries tea is actually the best tea in world.
Now I’m not some airhead who thinks everything is the best in the world, it do happens that this tea had disappeared off shelves years ago. I went through the whole grieving process and finally accepted my loss.
Until today, when the stupid grocery store on College resurrected my all time favourite tea.
I prefer to drink it in an extra large travel mug (lid helps me not spill) with two bags and copious amounts of white sugar. And don’t give me any garbage about sugar ruining the healthy part of herbal tea. Because I don’t drink it to be healthy, damnit I want it to taste good.
Because I’m defiantly unoriginal, Day 13 is also a heart. The challenge was to make something out of tea and I just happen to buy a box of my most favourite tea in the world, Tazo Passion Tea. I first tried this tea at the best Starbucks in the world which is the one in Chapters on Mapleview Drive in Barrie. While I was in college, my group of friends and partners in crime would head over to the Starbucks to take advantage of their free wifi, their enormous and gorgeous wood work table and the plentiful power outlets. This table was epic, thick wood with raw edges, big enough for 8 people and their junk to sit around.
That’s where I first tried this tea, and it’s summer weather counterpart of passion tea lemonade.
It’s been a very long hiatus on my creative challenge, but life got in the way. And because it’s my blog and my project, I get to make the rules and say its Day 12, instead of day 38 or whatever I should have been on.
Today’s challenge is to create something that blends into it’s background. So I drew a heart in the snow on a white table and took the photo at night. This resulted in me having to try a million photo editing apps, which was more fun than taking the photo, just to get the picture clear enough to see the heart.
Cheers folks!
Due to technically difficulty, and by technically I actually mean life difficulty, I haven’t been posting my daily creative genius. Yes I realize that this is devastating to the world as a whole but never fear my dears, I will be back soon with a flurry of posts that will make even the grumpiest of all grouches smile.
Yesterday’s creative challenge was to make something with water as a medium or as an inspiration. So I bathed my doggie because he was stinky and he looks soooo cute all scraggly wet. My creative project could become a ton of different things but right now it’s anything I could possibly do to make me smile. And anything that could possibly make someone smile too.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?
Asketh - tumblrbot
Why are you yelling my dear tumblrbot?
Right now my favourite inanimate object is my iPad. Does this count as inanimate? Because some would say the technology is so advanced and intuitive it’s like it’s own person.
But I digress. It’s my newest gadget and it’s mucho fun so far.
